A Dreamer's Dream

What does it mean to follow your dreams?  And when I say follow your dreams, I mean go all in for what you truly believe is destined for you.  What does this mean?  It's more than just a dream, it is the effort, it is faith, it is willing to endure the pain of failure and knowing that you have to keep on pushing forward!

Effort:  This is something that I wrote about in a previous blog.  Your effort is something that should never be questioned.  Understand that to go all in on your dreams requires the utmost attention and grind.  Put forth your best efforts to bring your beliefs to life.

Faith:  You have to believe in something other than yourself.  Something that will keep you focused and your spirits at a high!  Faith that when you do fail, that will not be the end of your story.

Keep Pushing:  When you go all in on your dreams, you have no backup plan.  This shit is all or nothing and you must continue to push.

I was inspired to write this blog post because someone that I call my brother is taking a leap that has motivated me!  This upcoming Friday, June 29th he will be leaving his place of employment in corporate America to follow his dreams.  Migrating from the corporate world to a full-time entrepreneur will not be easy and he knows it, as scary as the journey will be I think it refreshing to find someone who is willing to take the risks on themselves.  I couldn't be more happier for him because as long as I have known him this has certainly felt like a long time coming.  He is one of my many motivation pieces and watching him turn into the millionaire is only making me pick up my pace to do the same lol.  They say you are an average of those who are close to you and to have him on my team helps because I know we all push each other for excellence.  My brother, my dawg, tear this shit up and I will meet you on the road to success!

To those dreamers, never give up and continue to push thru!!

Tech Slaves

Crazy how attached we are to our technology, phones, computers, tablets etc. etc.  After being without my personal computer for about 3 weeks, I have definitely noticed just how attached to my computer I am.  A slight crack in the interior of my MacBook not only took my out of commission but had me being less productive overall.  For someone looking to expand a business involving society, culture, fashion, etc., that is not a good look.  No excuses for my slackin' to post or keep updates coming, but I am now seeing just how much I rely on technology from my own point of view.

I always thought of myself as partially addicted, lol if that is possible.  Not too involved with the scrolls and very particular with posts, most of them never including my face or location at the moment.  All that went out the window when I was without my personal computer.  Even with this issue, I was able to tap into my resourceful bag.  That was the true key to success during this stint.  While not posting blogs, I have been able keep the LimitlessLifestyleCrew Social Media up to par and even featured on a couple of podcasts, most notably Kickxerella Radio.  I'd hope you check out the content and you can be sure that more is certainly on the way!

Commitment to Greatness, Success

From this day forward, whatever that day is YOU read this post, pledge a commitment to YOUrself.  In that commitment, pledge for greatness and success.  There is no reason why YOU shouldn’t want both of these for YOU.  And as I write this I want to make sure YOU understand who I am telling, YOU, to go after greatness and success.  YOU, yes YOU.  This commitment is to challenge YOUrself and is for self growth and eventual satisfaction.  Who YOU do it for that is not YOUrself does not matter right now.  We gotta want it!!  Let’s get a bit selfish and push forward to our commitment because personally, we want it.

Resolution or Evolution

As of recent years, definitely more than my younger years I have noticed a different type of reaction to people who speak of their New Year’s resolutions.  It was once a very positive, embracing and inspirational thing.  The entire process of putting together a list full of resolutions and lifestyle changes that one wanted to associate with their fresh start.  Now it seems that people are being vilified for wanting to implement positive aspects into their life.

How I see it, we should all aspire to improve by the day and anytime a person sets goals of improvement that is something that we should all both encourage and embrace.  Change is not easy at all and one of the things that makes it difficult is the expected responses from other people.  And I know what y’all are saying, “who cares what others think,” and in a sense you’re absolutely right but as humans it is in our nature to care what others think.  Even so, that is beside the point of this post lol.  Why are we so embracing of the BS for the most part but turn the other way when someone states how they want to evolve positively?

We often question can changes be made overnight, as in can changes be made on January 1st and the truth is changes can be made at any time.  It all depends on the person and when they are ready to apply changes.  If someone picks the new year to start the change then so be it.  And when they are ready, we should be there to support.

Thank You Kobe

Kobe retired 2 different jersey numbers tonight.  Did y’all hear me?  I said Kobe just retired 2 different jersey numbers tonight.  That’s right, both #8 and #24 hang up high in Staples Center.  For twenty years of my life, I watched Kobe literally pour blood, sweat and tears into this game of basketball.  He did it with only the type of grit and grind that could be initiated by thee Kobe Bryant himself.  Coming up as a kid who played the sport of basketball myself, I remember watching Kobe come into the league as a rookie and wow the world with an awesome Dunk Contest championship.  Remember those airballs against the Jazz in the playoffs.  So many moments, so so many.

If I can be honest, and people think I am crazy but I still have not seen a basketball player like the #8 Kobe.  Fearless, athletic, fundamental and a straight up monster on the court.  There were no friends, there was no buddy ball, hell he didn’t even like his teammates lol.  The fact is, he was great though.  And not great because it was just God-given ability, but great because he worked at it.  Each season coming back with a different component added to his game.  Oh, and he managed to come up with 3 titles while playing with the great Shaq.  And if you say these were his Robin years, check the damn stats!!  With no Kobe, there were no rings and truth be told his intensity and push to be great pushed Shaq to stay on tip as well, it will never be said but I can guarantee it.

A little bit older, a lotta bit wiser, Kobe returns growing with the name “Mamba,” but this time he is wearing the number 24.  There is no Shaq, the winning seasons have lead to disappointments and early playoff exits and this is without question his team.  So what does a great do, he gets in the lab to work on his game, even past the physical, he knows its now mental.  The Mamba can see why the grind is so important, I mean a young Kobe has had championship success, but the challenge is now getting THIS roster to understand the grind.  A few changes to the roster but Kobe finds a way to challenge everyone on the roster from 1 to 15, in his way, the tough love way.  Killing teammates in practice so they go home and have to think about it.  Forcing them to compete at the highest of levels in practice only paid benefits when the Mamba got this team to add two more championships to his already legendary career.

In between these short paragraphs are a ton of details that are left out but I’ll leave that up to you all to read study and watch YouTube on.  Just know that if you got to watch Kobe Bryant compete, whether it be KB8 or The Mamba or maybe both, you watched one of the Greatest Of All Time.  And even more important, he did it his way.

 Thank you Mamba
